The mission starts and hopes to end with good result:Chandrayaan-2
The
Space misssion Chandrayaan-2 was sucessfully launched from the second launch
pad at 2:43 PM IST (O9:13 UTC) to the moon by a Geosynchronous Satekite launch
vehicle Mark III (GSLV MK III).This mission is headed by the Indian Space
Resarch Organisation (ISRO).
The main scientific objective of this mission was to
map the location and abundance of lunar water.
What is
Lunar Water?
Lunar Water
is the water that is present on the moon’s surface.Liquid water can not be
present at the moon’s surface because water is decomposed by sunlight, with
hydrogen quickly lost to outer space.
What will
Scientist study from this mission?
Scientist will study about lunar topography, mineralogy, element abundance and about the lunar exosphere.
Scientist will study about lunar topography, mineralogy, element abundance and about the lunar exosphere.
What is
Chandrayaan-2 made up of?
Chandrayaan-2
is made up of three parts
1)-The
lander and rover:will help to land on the moon’s surface.
2)-The wheleed
Pragyan:will help to move on the lunar surface and will help to perform
Chemical analysis for 14 days(one lunar day).
3)-The
Orbiter:It will move in a circularized polar orbit for 1 year to cover 100X100
Km.
Landing:Chandrayaan-2
will be making a soft landing on the moon’s surface on 7 September 2019 as planned. It will land near the moon in the south polar region at a latitude of
about 70° South.After landing
Pragyaan will perform chemical analysis for one lunar day.
Mission Duration:Orbiter-1 year

What will
happen if mission will be sucessful?
A sucessful
landing would make India the fourth country to achieve a soft landing on moon
after the space agencies of USA and China.India will be the first country to
land on moon south polar region.
